Glad to know I'm not the only one hating the Wimbledon site. It's all flash player and no substance. I couldn't even find the "As it happens" post until late in the day yesterday.
I also listened to the Around the Grounds radio yesterday and I'm really NOT interested in what people are eating. I just want to be updated on all the matches. I'm hoping Centre and Court 1 are better. Overall, I am disappointed in the Wimbledon produced coverage.
I have my fingers crossed for Serena today. And I want Goffin to beat that snotty Tomic kid.

Goffin did just that and will get a player actually smaller than him next round - Jesse Levine. Fish wasn't that impressive - and who knows how he'll be day to day - so there are real possibilities.
I had no idea Seppi lost to Istomin yesterday so Mahut has become the favorite to make the fourth round.
Drops of rain.

Wow....I checked scores and Nadal was down 4-0 to Bellucci in the first. Had to work and checked again. Nadal won the tiebreak 7-0. Meltdown?
Serena took care of business in the first set. YAY.
Tsonga seems to be rolling over Lleyton.

Meltdown. Absolutely. I only watched the tiebreak but Bellucci dumped (and I do mean dumped) the first two balls straight into the net. And I agree with John and Chris Fowler--letting Rafa not only into the set but letting him take over the tiebreak means Tomas will be seeing a completely different Rafa than the one he was facing earlier.
Oh Feli. . . You make me sad. And just going by the scores it looks like Olivier Rochus gave Almagro quite the battle. Too bad he couldn't pull it out.
Oh, and Mardy--they go to coverage of his match and the first thing I see is Mardy berating the chair ump ("what are you doing up there anyway?") Ass. The commentators pulled the old jingoistic "he's got passion" crap. And he's back into the ped socks again.

Tsonga kicked Hewitt's ass in straight sets. Love it! Serena was no nonsense in her first round win. Rafa started cold (as usual) but is warming up.

Wow did Bellucci blow that set. Still think Rafa would have won the next three but Thomaz should have forced that to happen. Olympics official list now up

While I knew Davydenko sucks on grass so this match would never be as good as others were claiming, I thought he'd have a chance for a close first set due to Andy's nerves. No such luck. I'm already feeling sorry for Kolya in the same way I felt for Ferrero yesterday.

I don't think I've ever hated an injury for a player more than I do Davydenko's wrist injury. I just remember him finally getting a clothing sponsorship and all those witty interviews he was doing and having people finally really liking that little guy in the top five and then it was all taken away from him. Makes me sad.
Does Hannah Storm not know what an auto-immune disease is? She was shocked when Serena said that Venus wouldn't know one day from the next if it was going to be a good day or a bad day. "She doesn't know if she's going to feel okay?!?" Hannah is sure blessed to not know any of the millions and millions who deal with situations like that every day of their lives.
Darn. And now I've lost Kevin Anderson and am about to lose Haas. Stupid day 2.

It's got to be a bit soul-crushing to be up two breaks on Rafa and let him back in. I feel bad for Bellucci.
Happy for Bhupati/Bopanna. Paes is probably pissed. Venus in for singles? I wonder if she'll pull out.
Mardy is back to the sock-free look? Is he trying to make his legs look longer like a Hollywood starlet? Are we going to see him in silly-putty colored sneakers soon? (I am such snot. I know it.)

The thing with Venus is that the only way she gets in for doubles (where the sisters are the reigning gold medalists) is if she qualifies through singles. Much as Vania King deserved the spot she earned from doubles, there was no good way for her to fit.
Paes was appeased by being given the mixed doubles slot. Sania Mirza is now furious (as well should be, given she and Mahesh just won the French).

I feel badly for Vania King--I adore that young lady--but her success in doubles has come with players from other countries so I understand why Huber/Raymond were chosen but *blech*, I'm not a fan of Huber's. However, I think all the "we want to play with Serena" for mixed is a bit silly. She hasn't been a top player in mixed for quite a while and both Raymond and Huber are proven winners in mixed. Didn't Huber win the US Open mixed with one of the Bryans last year?
For the other countries: I want to see Feli and David play doubles. And I hope Max and Vika join up again for mixed--can't see why they won't.

To be honest, mixed doubles is such a crapshoot to begin with (Melanie Oudin, defending US Open champ). It's been fun listening to the guys try to "court" Serena but I find it tough to picture anyone seriously pursuing three medals due to the Olympics scheduling. It makes sense if you don't do well in singles or doubles, or are only playing doubles. Not so much in Serena's situation, where you hope to be involved late in the tournament of both.

Stosur is out early. Is grass not her surface? Injury? I'm not a fan, but I thought she was really coming into her own after the USO.
It's raining.
ETA: The photos aren't nearly as good as the ones from RG. Perhaps it's the cropping, but they look far too much like model portfolio shots. They really need to decrease the zoom and get in some of the Wimbledon background. These shots could be from any tournament at any time. The RG shots made me FEEL RG. These are pretty but meh. Although the one from yesterday of Mardy Fish with his hair flowing a bit is cracking me up.

Nice win for Sloane Stephens this morning. I got to watch some of it before I left for work this morning. It's good to see a young player steadily improving. The BF can't stop commenting on how cute she is too.
I also like Tamira Paszek, who is fighting against Woz right noe. She has a lot of personality on the court, and i always get pulled in when I watch her. Plus she's starting to show some signs of good form again.
