Sam has never done well on grass. She's only made it to the third round once. Even so, I thought she'd get that far this year due to the draw but no dice.
Regardless of this match, I predict Paszek will have a really good summer. She's ineligible for the Olympics and played really well last week so could pile up the points.
First Round matches that may still be unfinished today if the rain keeps up: Roddick/Baker, Karlovic/Sela, Yakimova/Minella

Is it just weird timing or has Kate Middleton really lightened up the Royals? Prince Charles hasn't shown up to Wimbledon in some ridiculous amount of decades but he and Camilla were having a grand ol' time watching tennis. All the Royals seems so much more light-hearted recently.
And I really hope Roger's ridiculous play on grass sticks around to the players that he'll actually need it against.

Wow Tamira Paszek played great. I like her and wll be on the lookout for her in the future.
Sloane Stephens must be thrilled beyond belief.
A British woman made the third round!
This Wimby seems to be bringing out the best in up-and-coming women.
ETA:
Pironkova is giving Sharapova the business in the first set (4-1)...so far.

Watching/listening to Djoker/Harrison I'm having sound flashbacks--the echo of the racquet hitting the ball under the Wimbledon roof is the sound of the indoor tennis court that I first had my tennis lessons on as a kid.

Yeah, not a good day fo- the women's seeds. Li, Sam, Woz - not that I'm shocked about any of those, but disappointed, and I wouldn't say I expected it of any of them. Not at this stage! I do feel bad fo- Woz, it's kinda like she's in f-ee fall since she lost the #1. #7 coming in, I don't know what exactly it'll be now. Not good, not fo- a #1 without any inju-y issues that I know of? I mean Kim's unseeded because she hasn't played, that's just the way it goes, it's in no way an accu-ate assessment of he- level, but Woz is just hu-ting.
Nice that Fed got the royalty(an d nice fo- them, too). Had to laugh when I saw he said something about yes they got b-iefed, obviously did the bow etc and also ... well you have to behave, not do anything stupid. Like he's known fo-, oh that Fed he's such a bad bad boy! Ha.

acre - If Roger and Fabio were briefed at the same time, then I could see definite reason to say that.
I wouldn't call the Wozniacki or Stosur losses a shock. Caroline due to how well Tamira played her semi and final matches in Eastbourne, Sam because she has no clue on grass. I didn't pick either to lose but neither were going to make much impact. The Na loss destroyed my bracket (well, it'd already been bad due to Venus and Svetlana losing but Na wrecked it).

Sveta already lost? Wow I haven't been paying attention. I know I said that I wasn't going to anyway, but I changed my mind because of Sloane still being in it.
Serena's come out to play today. Hope she puts this girl away fast and easy and then gets ready for doubles. She and Venus play after Del Po on court 18.
I've come to the conclusion that I will never, ever, like Maria Sharapova. Nothing she's done, except for the grunting, but just can't seem to stand her. If she wins Wimbledon I will fall down in a slow circle and die. Or just you know grumble and yell and shake my fist at the TV.

I'm the exact opposite--I love Maria. I think she's my favorite woman on the tour.
. . . and I like the Wimbledon site. Maybe because my WiFi is fast, maybe because I work on MacBook Pro. . .I don't know but it looks so beautiful on my screen.

Harry - I believe it was Verdasco when he had his melt down in Nice against Gasquet. I too had forgoten that delightful phrase.
I get both opinions. For years I couldn't stand Maria. I think a lot of it had to do with her father but every thing about her bugged. The shrieks, the clenched fists, the weird foot shuffle when she walks away after a point. Those things still annoy me but in the last 2 years I've really come to respect her. She's not my favorite on tour but she's one of my top 10 for sure.

Harry, I was going to type "Bastages" but remembered where I was posting. "French of my balls" it is!
I think the Wimbledon site is pretty, but totally useless. I can't find anything. The space is so wasted. I have no problems with slow loading.
