Anyone think as he gets older Roger is starting to resemble Matts Wilander in the face? I really see a resemblance.

Venus and Serena are out of the doubles! I'm so happy that they withdrew. Especially for Venus as she's so stubborn.
Sucks about Lisa but I hope she and Robson play Wimby.

Sorry to see Li Na go out so early but congrats to Mattek-Sands for a good solid win.

I'm so disappionted about Madame Li getting knocked out so early. I thought she was a semifinalist for sure. I really like Bethanie too, though, so I'm almost okay with it.

Ditto, GrandSlamGuru. It got to me when the American Olympic team push happened last year, knowing Bethanie would have been perfect for the Olympic format.
I was thrilled Fognini beat Rosol because it was annoying how the commentators saw The Rematch as a foregone conclusion, where the truth was that Fabio is the seed for a reason.

I was not happy at all that Rosol lost because I like him and can't stand Fognini but I'm watching on the computer so the commentator doesn't bother with making stupid predictions like thinking Lukas would have a chance again against Rafa. If I had to hear that, it would have been eye-rolling.
I like Mattek-Sands a lot so I'm not too upset, but if it had been almost anyone else to beat Li Na I would not have been happy at all.
Boy, is it rainy out there today. Up with the umbrellas, down with the umbrellas, up with the umbrellas, down with the umbrellas. Good thing they start this tournament a day early.
eta: I don't know what the weather is supposed to be like tomorrow in Paris but if it isn't raining, the OOP is loaded to say the least. How did I not remember that Feli could potentially meet Ferru?

Good grief, Rafa lost a set to Kilizan? Is he just nervous? Did anyone see it?

I saw it. Rafa wasn't playing terribly well but Kilizan was playing some lights out tennis. Flat shots with massive pace very reminiscent of how Soderling and Rosol hit to beat Rafa previously. Rafa pulled his socks up after the first set and Kilizan`s level dropped.
I love getting up in the morning and having live tennis from Paris. Just wish I didn`t have to listen to Brad Gilbert at 5:00 a.m. (or, you know, anytime).

Wish TTC's stream had court 3--I'd like to watch this 5th set between Fer and Tipsy. Sad Feli lost but not sad Ferru won.
FYI: the Roland Garros app fixed their audio problem so if you have the app and want Radio Roland Garros just update the app. So nice to listen to on my bus ride and walk across town this morning.
eta: ahhhh, too many matches that I want to watch right now: Tsonga/Chardy, Monfils/Robredo, Simon/Querrey, Anderson/Raonic. Even the PIP on TTC website isn't enough for me right now.

Robredo and Monfils are really dueling it out in the 4th set. Good stuff.

Gael sure knows how to hash things up. He knows to get injured when he should already be off the court. Nice comeback,Tommy. My bracket is veeeeery happy you won.

Monfils really choked it but it was a good match nonetheless.

Hi all! Damn I can believe Franny beat Bartoli, but that scoreline is kinda shocking. I mean, Marion's a flake, but it's like she didn't even come to play.
And I am loving that old man Haas is still in it, that man is just stupid talented. With all his issues over the years he just keeps coming back up, he's like a bobble-doll. The age is enough and then the countless injuries, but he just keeps rising back to the top. I'd say he's gifted almost on a par with Fed, else he'd be long gone.
And oh yes, Monfils always gives the crowd their moneys worth, big time. Not that he was ever going to win or anything, but he gives entertainment. Actually, that's mostly to his own detriment, a less spectacular style would be easier on both his body and mind.
ETA: Oooh, Tipsy went down in 3 to Youhzny, happy about that. Davy is also going down, I have a soft spot for him and he's kinda like Haas(injuries, old, and way talented), but not quite.
Nadal is definitely not at his best this week(and crabby!), but I don't believe for a minute that he'll actually lose. I mean, it could happen, but not likely. Not likely at all, he's still Nadal, God of Clay. Heh, even gods can have feet of clay I guess. But mostly with him that just means losing a set now and then, the horror!

Nobody thinks that Rafa will get knocked out prior to the SF so these first sets are more irksome than anything.
ETA: I'm at work so unable to watch but John Isner saved 12 MPs?! Tommy's gonna need a hug.

Oh, Tommy, you're making me sad. I have nothing against Isner, but Tommy is a fave. Always, not just because of all the adversity he's dealt with. The fact that he's smoking hot doesn't hurt, but hey I've always liked Davy too, so that's not enough. And he's also old enough that I don't feel like a dirty old lady.
Stan is just cruising, he has become so much better than he used to be! Don't know what it was that did it, but he's now a real threat, and in the top echelon. Well, among those who seem doomed to be also-rans, given the dominance of the Big 4. Anyone think rosset has a point with being against the 32 seed system? It does lend itself to more "yeah, yeah, x obviously has this one", fewer tough matches for the highly seeded guys.
I'm a big fan of Nadal, but I can't work up much interest in his early matches, actually any befo-e the semis. Obviously he's going to win. Maybe with a blip, but still, he's going to win. Always, but on clay? C'mon, just pencil it in.
