I don't think I've seen this mentioned, but tennischannel.com is offering live streams from four courts. It may be restricted to when TTC is actually broadcasting, but I'm pretty sure it's free. Thanks Harry! Of course my rave of ESPN 360 was a little early and as of this evening they hadn't posted any Day 2 coverage. I guess its because they didn't have any regular coverage. And tomorrow Ferrer plays on Court 2 and I'm not sure if they're covering beyond Court 1. So the link was a big help. I got to see Roger (who looks great--loved the dark blue). It was good just to see him again (feels like its been a long time for me) and to see him playing well. And a bonus--I got to hear him speak en francais at the end. I took French in high school and could pick up a few words, but it really didn't matter what he was saying, lol. It just sounded really nice.

Bethanie Mattek is playing Madison Brengle so we might get a chance to see whatever abomination she puts together not once but twice. Not only twice but the second round match would be against Sharapova! We'll need sunglasses for the mess of an outfit she'd bring to Chatrier or Lenglen.

Awww, bad me--too late for the pool.
While I agree with everyone about Venus's outfit (that skirt was big and bulky and even made her waist look thick) I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree about Serena's outfit. Actually, just the skirt. I think it needed to be a bit longer, get rid of whatever lace trim or whatever was going on at the bottom and should have been less flared. Also, I wish the back of her shirt did something a little different. I've never been a fan of the exposed bra strap and since her sports bra has adjustable straps it just looks like exposed bra straps back there against the shirt's racer back. Phew. Guess I really had some problems with the outfit. I did, however, enjoy her schoolgirl French. (petite jolie, rouge et blanc. . . hee.)

Serena speaking French was pretty funny. When Pam asked the question, my first thought was "WTF, Pam?!" But it turned out to be a lot more interesting than usual "How'd you feel out there today?" questions. I'm amused when players end up wearing the same shirt for the match (like in the Stan/Kohli match). It makes me think that the players are sharing the same closet. Though it does make it more difficult to follow the match online where I can't easily see people's faces.

I watched the 3rd set of Mauresmo's match and she looked good. She's by far my favorite player, so I'd love it if she could make a run here. I know people praise Henin's backhand all the time, but I actually prefer Mauresmo's backhand. Henin hits more flashy winners, but Mauresmo has more variety: she can hit the low slice, the heavy topspin, the flat drive down the line, the short angle cross court, etc. I love seeing her work the point by changing the spin, the pace, the direction on every ball. If Mauresmo had half of the mental fortitude of Henin (or Serena), she would have won a lot more slams in her career.

Man, this is like Wimbledon rain. As it is about 8 pm at night have they declared the rest of the day a washout?

It looks like they fixed the licensing bit on the private pools, as all our entries are being scored now.
telequeue leads the men's bracket with 23 points, and is tied with omophagia for first in the WTA with 19 points.

Hey, telequeue is me! I must have mixed up my username and email name. Oops. I wish I could change my username there, but there doesn't appear to be any way to do that. So, I saw this Nadal ad at DTL and it's just the most bizarre ad ever: claymation, aliens, Michael Jackson, Voltron, Transformers, plus some weird vore and foot fetishes.

I know I shouldn't really say this - but thank goodness for the Parisian rain! I got to see my barking hot buddy in action for what must be the first time in months. Post-Mothra and dreamy duds as it were ---
I can also say that Venus has never had such bad taste, IMO - though I still hold to my opinion on Serena (sorry, LT!)
Hearing Cliffy, Darren, Fowler and PMac today felt like coming home. Who knew I'd become attached?

I was so happy to see that quality third set from her, since her first two were pretty terrible - the same kind of error-filled, wince-worthy stuff we've seen all too often from her. I agree with you about her backhand, too.
On the men's side, I don't know which result is more surprising: Wawrinka's straight set win over Kohli, Ancic's straight set win over Seppi, or Soderling's absolute domination of Juan Monaco? I think I'll have to go with Sodering.
And I'm very interested to see some more of the kid Nadal's playing - he didn't look intimidated by the occasion at all, and is one of the hottest players on the tour (even if most of his wins were achieved at the Challenger level). He and Schwank are really showing off the depth of the tour these days, as heretofore "minor league" results translate into major skill and growth.

Hubby and I watching the two Nadal games that our DVR managed to catch, and suffering through Cliffie's commentary about Nadal. "He is the rrrrraging bull."
Hubby quips "and Cliffie is the rrrrraging bullshit."

Definitely Soderling for me, although I had Kohli to pull the big upset in the pool. Ancic/Seppi was a coin toss because I saw Ancic as the one unseeded player nobody would want to face early in the tournament (well, between him and Safin, anyway) yet Seppi had been on a roll lately.

Am I so tired that I'm delirious? What was that? Mini-Rafas? And he puts his feet. . . really? If I buy a Kia can I make it turn back into Nadal?

Federer looks skinnier than usual to me. He seems to have lost a bit of his belly or perhaps the dark color is just slimming. I am also kind of glad that because of the rain I got to see his match against Querrey on tv since I'm without the tennis channel. Watching it on the computer just isn't the same as on a big HDTV damn it.

That Rafa commercial was kinda disturbing.
It is really nice to see. I am happy for Schwank because he won three challengers in a row- including one where his hotel room caught on fire and his possessions (including some prize money checks and his racquets) were burnt. If I recall correctly he had to borrow clothes and equipment to play his next match.
I like Monaco and has simply not been the same since he injured his ankle at Vina del Mar. Why do the Argies have to have so many issues in the noggin? Maybe Schwank- who seems to be a late bloomer- can break this trend if he continues to find success.
