Does he have an injury or are you just interested in the condition of his naughty bits in general?
Question for all - I'm thinking of going to the Roger's Cup this summer as I used to live in Montreal and my sister is still there (no hotel cost). I don't want to go for too long and I was thinking of going so I'd catch the 2nd and 3rd rounds. That way I'll see all the players instead of waiting till the end and having some of my favourites knocked out. What do you think of that strategy and have any of you ever gone and have some tips?

I think that sounds brilliant! Besides, going earlier means that you can go to the outer courts and catch some good matches. I've never been to the Rogers Cup--not in Montreal or Toronto. I keep meaning to go, and never doing it.
I'm going to have to give up on seeing the doubles final--damn! All the streaming sites appear to have gone off the air.

I suspect Gimelstob fancies himself a clever incorrigible with all the nonsense he spews. You'd expect someone as apparently intelligent as he is would be able to muster up some more impressive banter. He's so half-assed about the whole commentary thing, you'd think he'd go all the way and just be idle rich. I, for one, not only think it, I wish it with every fiber of my being

Gah! No no no. Not the Murray bits!!!
I was asking because he took a tumble in the 3rd set and in his on court interview mentioned some problems with his "left groin." It did look like a painful fall. I want him to be in shape for the final tomorrow.

Damn! Max and Andy lost 14-12 in the super tiebreak. Strange how tense I can get watching live scores.

You and me both!
It, falafaclese, apocalipstick and others who share in my Gimelstob abhorrence, thank you! It is so nice to come here and be able to vent!!!
My favorite comment of his during today's matches was when he was talking/"flirting" with the actress from Gray's and she said something about paying him for the tennis lesson he just gave her (talking about his commentating) and he said, "You can work it off." Good god, make him stop.
And as for tennis...I am happy about the final tomorrow...the guys I was rooting for both won, woohoo! I don't think Fed's head is in it right now, and I just don't think Andy has what it takes to make it all the way anymore.

I was going to complain about the horrid coverage we are receiving here in Canada of Indian Wells as, for example, tonight they are broadcasting the semi-finals at 3:00 a.m. However I now feel truly blessed that we are not receiving the American feed and I don't have to listen to Gimelboob.

Apparently Rafa shares a philosophy that I have held for a long time. Cookies are good for your mental health. He said this at his post match presser:

Picturing Rafa as Cookie Monster makes me smile.
I think Vera and Andy will win this afternoon, but don't feel strongly about it either way.

Ugh, i'm watching the final on a stream with American commentators. They haven't shut the eff up about every single celeb in the crowd they can point out. SHUT THE FUCK UP! TENNIS! TALK ABOUT TENNIS.
Ahem.

Heh, I decided to forgo the TV coverage (which doesn't start for another two hours anyway) and go straight for the Brits on the computer. Much nicer. And francie, you're halfway to your prediction. Nice.
eta: judging by his earlier changeover comments, I think Andy is mentally way off his game right now. And, my goodness, is it windy out there. The ball is going all over the place.
eta2: ouch.

Wow. That was "hit the ball to the middle and hope the other guy misses." The wind was crazy. I actually listened to Gibbles call the whole match. I kind of loved him having to eat his words. Har. He disrespected Novak so much I was expecting PapaDokovic to storm the booth and beat the crap out of him. Now. I don't like Beaker. But Gibbles (maybe Gobbles if you watch South Park) basically called him unworthy of his ranking. Yuck. I hate that guy.
Go Vera. Nice win for her.

I forgot to record the women's match but am happy for Vera.
I wasn't surprised that Rafa won but I definitely didn't expect that scoreline.

Wow, what a blowout, both with regard to the weather and the match! Was expecting a better match, but still glad that Rafa won. And yeah, I watched the whole thing with the US commentators and also enjoy hearing Gimel be wrong over and over. When his announcing partner kind of ribbed him about picking Murray, Gimel got kinda pissed. Figures that he can't laugh at himself. And yeah, please LESS celebs and MORE tennis. Who cares what those people think about the match!!! Does anybody know the prize money amount Rafa got for winning today? I couldn't find it listed anywhere and I didn't see him get his enormous check

Rafa won $605,000.00 in prize money, and Murray won $295,500.00. They always have the amount of prize money and points for each level on the bottom of the draw.
