It, I'm with you on that 100%!!! If you Google Gimelstob, all that comes back is yucky stuff he's said and written, all sexist and smarmy.

But somehow it makes me feel better just knowing that others feel my pain. I'd definitely send an email expressing my disgust with him if I knew where to send it!

Anyway, one of the board members was posting about watching the matches yesterday and I found this amusing

Next match, Feliciano Lopez v. Mikhael Youzhny. Youzhny's wife/GF is sitting next to us - speaking in Russian throughout. After a let was called and Youzhny did not believe it, she confirmed it to him. Anyway, Lopez is in control of this match and wins in straights. Lopez was very amusing and definitely moved up in my esteem. Played very well. Constantly referred to himslef after misses as Felopie (not sure how you would spell that -F-Lopie, Felope, F-Lopee?). I did not know he did that but now will refer to him as Felopie. Applauded good shots by his opponent, including many que buenas after Youzhny shots. Made funny faces when Youzhny made shots he did not think were going to stay in - kicked a drop shot he could not reach right to the ball kid - and after the match gave one of his shoes to a kid, signed it, high fived him and was generally a good sport. Good job Felopie.

Feliciano Lopez will now always be Felopie to me now too.

Is no one watching Fed vs Andy? I bit the bullet and got the sports package with Fox for Miami this Wed. I'm watching Fed and am frustrated with him! I love him but damn watching him play now makes me feel like I'm on pins and needles, it's almost like watching Venus play. Well it's 3-all in the second and I guess we'll see if Roger can pull it out.

I'm watching it. Fed dominated in the second. Murray up a break in the third. The Gimel Douche-a-lot and the bland guy are announcing. It's painful.

Felopie. I <3 it.

ETA: Murray now up a double break in the 3rd. Seriously. Federer. Where is the fight? Where is the drive? He GAVE away two breaks in the third. Just gave them away. Errors all over the place. Gimel said Fed has mentally checked out. And it nauseates me to agree with him.

ETA2: That 3rd set meltdown wasn't a beat down like 2008 FO 6-0 third against Nadal. This was a serious mental melt down. The Red Menace was sucking in that last game and still Roger couldn't push through a break. I'm no Fed fan, but I'd like to see his brain and heart back in the game. Neither was present in that third set.

I had the sound down. I could figure out what was wrong with Fed in that third set. He played the second set very well, and should have had some good momentum, but he just went dead. He was playing like he had somewhere else to be and just anted to wrap things up.

btw: thanks apocalipstick, I tried your muting of between points when I watched my TiVo of Fed/Fer and it really helped! Imagine my [sarcasm]shock[/sarcasm] when I turned on MSG+/SNY coverage of the tournament today and it was a replay of yesterday's Beaker/Roddick match. Blah. I give up. I think I'd rather the tennis coverage was on TTC where I cannot see it just so all of you nice people could get some decent coverage because SNY/MSG+ is Just. That. Bad.

Meanwhile: Max and Andy over the Bryan brothers in straight sets! That is a thing of beauty to behold. Channelsurfing.net for the rest of the day for me. (Go Rafa for this match.) Oh no, I just realized that they're going to have to give Roddick a rest after this match before he can play doubles. I'm not up for staying up late tonight (tired. so tired.)

Neither was present in that third set.

Yeah, he was most definitely not on his game yesterday vs. Fer either. Honestly? I'm his biggest fan going and he's starting to piss me off.

When Roger started to struggled, I turned on the sound hoping for some Lindsay. I got very little.

Roddick won't be able to play with Gimel's mouth firmly attached to his crotch. Hey, maybe that's why he's always adjusting himself.

Speaking of pregnant and always on her blackberry Mirka, did anyone catch her holding on to Mary Jo's girl in their box yesterday? One arm firmly wrapped around the girl so she wouldn't topple over the edge, one hand concentrating on typing (one-handed! That's impressive). Is she on Twitter or something? Why does she need to be on that thing every second of a match? I'm thinking she must have one thousand friends.

Gwen wasn't right on top of Mirka. They probably had to text back and forth. Gwen? Gwen Stefani? Gavin Rossdale's wife. (I'm quoting Gibbles there. 'Cause it's not like Gwen is twice as successful as Gavin. Whatever.)

I did catch a shot of Mirka doing the pregnant belly scratch.

I'm watching on justintv now. Slow start for Rafa. No announcers. Yay.

Is anyone listening to this crap on TV? Slimy Gibbles is flirting with Kate Walsh from Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. It's ridiculous and tremendously funny and inappropriate. Anyway Andy can't follow through with anything and of course he will lose this match.

I actually have some decently fair and balanced Brit announcers now. It's nice. And soothing. Gibbles is such a slimebag. Did anyone here him say he plans to live off his future inheritance? Classy.

I'm listening to the nice Brits as well. I think I'll do the final this way tomorrow as well. As for the inheritance--I think I mentioned ages ago I found his parents' house on a NJ tax site (I was looking for a NY Giant) and, yeah, he won't have any problem living off of the inheritance. I do wish that would mean he would stop commentating.

Okay, so here's what quick Google search came up with when I searched father Gimelstob:
-runs an insurance company (so who knows if they actually still do have all that money)
-Justin's brother Josh was in jail for six months for a hit-and-run when he was going to Tulane (I'm not going to go into details into that because, well, let's just say the family doesn't come off very well. Well, maybe the mom does.)
-Republican (donated to GWB's campaign)
-father seems to be a bit of a bastard. Brad Gilbert said of him "He's a sick dude." after elder Gimelstob challenged Brad to a fight after Andre said he shouldn't be losing to the likes of Justin Gimelstob.
