Phew! He must have heard me bitching. Now I'll watch Federer/Gonzo. I love channelsurfing.

Did anyone hear Gimelstob drop the F bomb (he thought he was off-mic, I assume) during last night's Roddick match on FSN? How does this guy still have a job?!!

I've no time to comment on anything of substance, but good God Mirka's putting her pregnancy boobs on display! No wonder Fed's so happy about becoming a dad!

Gonzo's meltdowns always seem extra unsightly to me for some reason. When he has one, he always seems to be just on the verge of going completely feral. I don't like to see it.

[2] R Federer (SUI) d [17] F Gonzalez (CHI) 63 57 62
Great win for Roger! He beat such an awesome spaniard. I hope a win like this can help him mentally and play him more into form.

Ljubicic is looking quite good against Murray. If he can manage to win the second set, he's got a chance, because Murray's running a marathon out there.

Heh, Mpol, that is really good. I turned off the Federer/Verdasco match last night after the first set (I have it TiVo'ed--I'll watch the second set tonight) because I was getting so angry at Gimelstob and I didn't want to go to sleep with all that anger. That yahoo in the booth with him isn't good either. To them, all left-handed Spaniards are the same--Rafa or Rafa-lite. I won't even start to go into why that is crap but I did like Lindsay coming to the realization that Fer is offense and Rafa's defense is unparalleled (duh!).
What the heck with that Andy challenge? I didn't see it actually happen, just the recap (over and over again). They never explained when it became obvious that the camera picked up the wrong bounce or why it couldn't be overturned. Just that it was a bad break for Ivan. Meanwhile, they went on and on about Andy's good sportsmanship at the net for apologizing but not one word about Ivan's shrugging it off and not blaming Andy. Seems to me the guy that loses the point he was supposed to win is the guy with the good sportsmanship.

I have started muting it between points and letting the sound play during points. My remote batteries are going to die, but it's better than the Gimel.
HE SUCKS!
Anyone know where we can write to request his firing?

Did you hear him talking to Andy during the on-court postmatch about them going out to dinner and asking if Andy had fun? How sleazy fanboy is that? Shake his hand and I'm guessing slime comes off.

I saw that point too, but I had the sound down so I didn't hear any of the discussion. It looked clearly wide to me before they played back the challenge, and Ljubi was right on top of it when it bounced, so I found it hard to believe that he had seen it wrong. The weird thing is that the trajectory of the bounce (it was a high lob with a steep descent) looked right, and I don't remember another high lob near a line like that in the point, so I'm surpised that they're saying they played back the wrong shot. He ended up losing that game on another pont, but he played well, and I'm glad to see him getting deep in a bigger tournament.

I believe the thought is that the replay was of the second bounce. Apparently the ball had a lot of backspin and bounced on the line the second time.

Right, the camera picked up the 2nd bounce (on the line) instead of the first (out)--when was that figured out and why didn't Ivan get the point?

I believe the thought is that the replay was of the second bounce. Apparently the ball had a lot of backspin and bounced on the line the second time. Ahh. That makes more sense. I remember being surprised when Andy decided to challenge because it seemed like it should have looked clearly out even to him. I also read somewhere that Ljubi said that he didn't think it had an effect on the the outcome of the match. I'm not sure if I believe that given how close that match was throughout, but whatever. In a way, I'm glad this was caused by human error rather than some glitch in the system, because it would suck to find out the Hawkeye could be that inaccurate.
