Great job, everyone! What a genius group we have on this forum. Seriously. I'll have to wrack my few remaining brain cells for a haiku to thank admin once again. eta, since this post is top-of-page (how do I keep doing that??), I have to throw this in for falafaclese:

Gorgeous, oops. I really like the pretty haiku (haikus?) that people post...unlike mine, which tend to feature words from urbandictionary.com.

Simply sublime, oops - maybe my favorite of the thread!
This one is written as an augmentation of a post-I-have-yet-to-write in the point by point thread, having read the very interesting "relative merits (and demerits) of clay" discussion. My take, in haiku form:
Well-constructed points Speed, skill, smarts and topspun arts Call me "dirtballer"

Aw, shucks, wrong -- though now I'll be jealous when you start complimenting others'! Actually, I was going to come here to write either my own weird homage to clay or an apologetic nod to the people whose feathers I might have ruffled by bringing up the clay-court discussion. I feel all different points of view on it, often within the same match!! And I love the strong literary talents demonstrated here! (And the words I learn from tiki!) I still hold out that a convergence of all of us with samplings from this thread on t-shirts would be pretty fun. And we might catch the eye of some players, too!

A tribute to all who post on this thread...
Tennis Heaven's haiku sing pretty, mean, in between; always entertain.
(That grammar just got my EngLit degree revoked. Ah well.)

My cats love the clay. Interminable rallies: many balls to chase.

Those are awesome. Cats and birthdays and a bit of self-awareness....
And the emoticons at the top of the page still make me smile -- what an ironic bunch!
I wish I had something for today -- maybe tomorrow will inspire?
