Hi everyone!
Dinara Safina looks a lot like her brother, and it isn't really a good thing for her. And when she played I was sort of glad I don't have HD, because...well. You know why. Too bad Justine crushed her so easily. I do give USA credit for barely showing any of that presumably insanely boring match. I'd much rather watch Moya.
Does anyone know why the US Open site only has the schedule for Armstrong and Ashe tomorrow and has no other courts listed? That seems odd.

Wawrinka looks like the kid from family ties w.o the piercings. And hopefully the domestic abuse charges LT, I can understand not liking someone whose success went to their head. I've always thought of him as the clueless slacker type... I really like Nole so I'm not hoping for another nighttime snooze fest but hope he doesn't have to expend too much energy... ETA Jillibean, my husband and I call that the JFK Jr/Caroline syndrome. When the siblings look alike but it works for the brother but not the sister. And yes you didn't need HD to see she is dermatalogically challenged

Normally, I'd never go for the sweaty type but Moya is looking mighty delicious right about now. I'd love to see him in the final.
ETA: Am I hearing things, or is Prince being played very loudly in the stadium???

Wow, the tennis form at TWOP, is a graveyard.
The women's tennis matches ended up in a whimper today. I was disappointed, I thought Ana could have put up more of a fight.

Hello y'all! Thanks for doing this Liz. I really don't understand what Strega's issue with the old thread was, considering that conversation was civil and really interesting but whatever, it's her problem. I'm glad that all my picks for the day won, I've been dying to see Wawrinka do well in a slam forever, I love his game and if he'd just get his head on straight he'd be awesome.

At some point, I do not understand why they didn't put it on a side court--they could have put it on 11, which has tv capabilities, and gotten a good-sized crowd.
I was thinking the exact same thing which leads me to. . .
Oh, that's funny because it's true.
I do, and I agree. I also agree with John--it was great seeing Moya so happy. I hope that ankle thing was a twist and not a sprain.

From the Bug Reports and Feedback forum at TWoP, this says everything that I'd like to...
I appreciate that the rules need to be more closely followed and I wonder if I could get this clarified (and I don't want to clutter the Tennis thread inappropriately).
"If you would have the exact same comment if you were at the match in person -- then you're probably not talking about the program."
Does this mean that we can't actually talk about the tennis? I wish I were being facetious, but the thread since seems to be mostly about the commentary, broadcast quality and which match was televised so I think there might be some confusion.
I know that posting pictures of magazine scans of fashion is waaaay out-of-bounds no matter how much I like to click the links, but may we talk about what they're wearing on the televised matches? It's kind of like figure skating - the outfits come in for equal TV comment by players, commentators and viewers alike (as opposed to the team uniform sports). When Serena wears a ridiculous catsuit, it's akin to Bjork wearing a swan at the Grammy's.
Lastly, it seems like the "rooting for who you like" thing is endemic in almost all the sports threads. I don't think there were any flame wars going on in the Tennis thread (maybe they were deleted). Without the opinions, though, it seems most sports threads would wither.
I do appreciate all the moderation that makes TWoP great - it must be a heck of a lot of work. Dispensing with any objectiveness at all, though, I confess that the Tennis thread has gotten really boring. If that's the way it's supposed to be, then that's OK, I'll stick to the non-Sports threads.

Yeah, there have been a lot of complaints about the heavy-handed moderating. I guess TWOP is going on lock-down.
Anyway, SHUT UP TRACY SHUT UP!
There, I feel better now.

(Crossing my fingers that I got the quote thing right.)
Just curious: where would one read these complaints? It seems a shame that such a civil, fun and usually very entertaining thread was picked out to crack down on.

Go to the Bug Reports and Feedback area and then "forum questions and comments" (or something like that). See what you think, but I think it's only going to get more tightly controlled.

Judging from the music on AA, disco music just seems to follow Djokovic around EVERYWHERE.

This should be a good third set with Bammer/Jankovic, I don't think either will beat Venus in the QF however.

Gulbis is up 6-1 on Robredo?! You cannot be serious! Okay, that's the last time I use McEnroe's line. I doubt USA will follow that match until the end, but I at least want to see Gulbis hit a shot.
