I am following tennis on a scoreboard. Damn dial-up! -Elena Dementieva is having a hard time against Kristina Barois. -Kateryna Bondarenko is holding up quite nicely against Agniezska Radwanska for the moment.

Murray seems to be cruising along. I'm liking the new FedCut. It makes him look so much more sporty.

That sucks, packrat. You can't get any TV coverage in Canada?
Dementieva...sigh. I want to like her, but...
The Sullen Scot is kicking ass.
I don't get any TV coverage until 9 p.m. Eastern.
ETA:
Hee. I wonder if it's Wintour-approved. I like Fed a lot, but even I have to admit, it's great not to watch the constant bang-flicking and Farrah Fawcettesque head shakes.

And Pavel just retired...anyone know what happened?

Gasquet is in a first set tiebreaker. If he folds like an accordian here, I'm not even going to try to like him. His opponent (Junqueria??) could beat Murray in a silly hair contest.

And tiebreak to ...not Gasquet.
You're right about the bangs. Maybe Fed can concentrate on the game a little more *grin*
No idea on Pavel. I don't see that the AO site has a live blog..

Hahhaha. The announcers in the Gasquet match just said that Kafelnikov had gotten "rotund." They are pretty good. Commenting on how Gasquet doesn't seem fussed about making his shots. Too casual and bad drop shot technique.

Thanks, packrat. I figured it might have something to do with Pavel being like 95 in tennis years.
Kafelnikov...I used to have a quite disturbing crush on him. Did they show him on TV -- is he really fat? Ha ha.

Dementieva managed to pull out the first set (take that Reeshard) but she's still stinking up the joint something awful. I hope she pulls it together mentally for the second set. It's weird not seeing them cut to Elena's mom every time she hits a wonky serve.
PS. for those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have ESPN360, channelsurfing.net also has feeds from all six show courts. FYI.

I just remembered channelsurfing.net. How handy.
If we each had a nickel for every shot of Elena's mom...
Anyway, who IS this guy that Gasquet's playing? He's Argentinian; maybe chesty will have some inside info for us.

I have DirecTV and 5 matches at once. I just choose to watch Gasquet faf around the court. Tiki, they didn't show him. Just talked about how he'd lost some weight because he needed to and that he spends most of his time play poker now. In the past 10 minutes, Reeshard has blown 3 break points. Good news! Spadea is down two sets to love!

Yep confirmed: It's a back injury for Pavel: news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/7835032.stm I hope Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova wins her match because she's meeting Victoria Azarenka in the next round. I only like the new batch of womens' players when they play each other.

From what they are saying about Junqueira. He's 28, Argie. He's never won a hard court match at the ATP level. They need to start a new match on Laver now I think Serena should be up.

Maybe TikiBoy will someday meet Kafelnikov at the poker tables in Vegas...
I'm watching Gasquet/Junqueira right now on channelsurfing.net. Junq looks like the misbegotten lovechild of Marcos Baghdatis (circa 2006) and Ron Jeremy.
