Live tennis on ESPNU channel 614 on DirecTV, not sure what channel on cable, and the Wimbledon mix channel. Or I guess ESPN3.com.

Now that might actually make me like Blake. Anything that gets Pam to shut her piehole.

Hmmm...Stosur is out to Kanepi. And Almagro looks to be out too. That's going to screw someone's bracket.

Well, Blake's speech didn't even shut her up. She just started talking, at courtside, during the point again. Blake complained again and ESPN cut to a different court.
His words to her were something like " I can't believe you used to play here and I can still hear you"

Hehe. Well at least something compelling came out of that match. I didn't see the match, but from the score and the length of the match, I get the impression that he wasn't playing all that well. I still like him, so that's too bad. I don't think he'll ever be a factor in the majors, but I'd still like to see him do well.
I can't believe that Stosur is out. Another bummer. That section has opened up. I'm predicting that Alexandra Dulgheru will make it to the second week. (Watch, now she'll lose her first match)

I agree apocalipstick. The commentary on Radio Wimbledon is fun yet insightful. It makes being at work less painful.
. The Wimbledon mix is on channel 701 on my DirecTV in NYC.

In lieu of having live tennis I went to the wimbledon site and read some interviews. And comments. I get that my local paper is haunted by ignoramuses (ignorami?) who chase ambulances and bash the victims, but on a tennis site? Wimbledon no less? Sheesh.
I had Almagro and Stosur going pretty far, so I won't even look at my bracket for a while.
Was Blake joking with Pam - or really upset? I'd love to see some shake-ups over there at ESPN: would Pam ever be let go??

And yet the JBlock being disruptive and rude to his opponents during points doesn't bother him. . . I'm happy someone said something to her--hell, Barkan was better at understanding how much the players could hear when he was in the stands and he's never played--but maybe Blake doesn't quite have a leg to stand on.
Me too and I'm not going to look either. Same thing in my season-long baseball pool--it gets worse every week but I figure it can't hurt me if I don't look.

Well, that would make two of them.
I'm depressed that Djokovic pulled off the win yesterday, but honestly...I'm almost starting to feel bad for him. Number three or not, he is so clearly overwhelmed by pressure. It's not pretty. But I still think he's as ass.
Also: fuckin' Schiavone and Stosur.

I can't stand the JBlock but I hate Shriver's constant yammering more. Now if one of the players would tell Mary Carillo she's an idiot on live television I'll be happy.

Can we get someone to mock Ted Robinson's tone of perpetual surprise while we are at it?
The Brit announcers are so secretly watching World Cup. They can't help keeping us updated on that as well. Cute.
Jamie Baker is down two sets. He has a nice post about hitting with Rafa on Nadal's website.

If Mary were a tenth as funny as she thinks she is, she'd be the greatest comedian in the history of planet Earth. I wish she and Pam would just crawl into a giant flask together and get the hell off my tv.
Nadal on-court reminds me of this Australian terrier my grandmother had. All twitchy and nervous and full of bizarre tics. Weirdly, with his skin tone, I don't think he looks good in that tight white. Something about the cling makes it looks like he has moobs instead of pecs. His team has really fallen down on the job, clothes-wise.
Did anyone else think the acoustics were terrible when they covered the court last night? It sounded like a gym or indoor swimming pool to me; the echo was heinous.
ETA you're gonna kill me, lt, but I actually prefer Storm to McKendry. Storm is just annoying, but McKendry strikes me as brain damaged. Like she just staggered on-set after being hit in the head with a two-by-four. I'd rather see neither of them, really.

Why did they have to close the roof anyway? If the weather was clear and all they needed was light, why not turn on the lights and keep the roof open? Does the grass get wet that quickly at night?
I've been stealing glances at the Heather Watson/ Romina Oprandi match. Watson lost the first set, but acquitted herself quite nicely during the second set and won it 6-1. She has a nice serve and good movement. I'm pulling for her to win this.

Not gonna kill you tiki (obviously) but I couldn't disagree more. McKendry likes tennis--she's enthusiastic about being at the slams and enjoys talking to the commentators about the players and matches. She spends the week leading up to and the week following talking on her SportsCenter about how much fun it will be/was (the best was telling Barry Melrose that her kids play tennis and not hockey thank-you-very-much). Hannah Storm could not be bothered. It's usually ESPN but I hate when any network puts someone on tennis who treats it like they don't understand why they--or anyone--is there. Of course they can go too far the other way with the overly-enthusiastic clueless sideline football reporter (cannot remember her name--she's quite short with really flippy hair and has a super-squeaky voice) who didn't know what the hell was going on but was so! excited! to! be! there! She's only shown up for one slam I think.
The lights are on the underside of the roof. Not like the US Open where they are on stanchions. Beaker talked about how the humidity level really rose with the roof closed (he talked about Andy Murray commenting on that last year). He said that really helped his style of game. *sigh* See, the repercussions that Fed going five keep echoing. . .

Can Dick just shut up for one second? No, I don't he's physically capable of being quiet or not talking nonsensically or bringing up stuff no one gives a damn about. Shut up!
I'll take McKendry because at least she's learned how to pronounce names and actually kind of seems interested.
Hannah is awful and that's surprising since she was decent on NBC and her NBA stuff. But she's horrible at tennis. Out of her depth.
