I definitely get your points, lt. What I'd like most of all from the broadcasts is...more tennis. None of this talking-heads-at-the-desk crap. They cut to that fucking desk in the middle of matches! It drives me mad. I just want to see the tennis. I don't give a fuck what Gilbert, Storm, or anyone else thinks of it.
Watching Sharapova/Pivovarova -- Sharapova has got to be one of the worst movers on the women's side. And my niece has almost the same exact top at Pivovarova. Of course, my niece is three years old...

The lights are on the underside of the roof. Not like the US Open where they are on stanchions. Beaker talked about how the humidity level really rose with the roof closed (he talked about Andy Murray commenting on that last year). He said that really helped his style of game. *sigh* See, the repercussions that Fed going five keep echoing. . . Well, I curse the architects for designing an evil roof. Those sons of bitches. |

I love Dick but I guess concentrating on baseball is not good for his tennis.
If there is anyone else out there like me wishing they could see Fer/Fabio way out there on Court 12--Live Score Hunter has the stream of it. Who pointed me towards Live Score Hunter during the French? I want to thank you profusely every time I find a match there I thought I couldn't see.

Well, Blake's speech didn't even shut her up. She just started talking, at courtside, during the point again. Blake complained again and ESPN cut to a different court. His words to her were something like " I can't believe you used to play here and I can still hear you" Was she actually courtside though? It looked to me like she was actually up above the court, overlooking the court and not truly courtside. I honestly don't think she realized he could hear her. Although why that didn't prompt her to STFU once he said something, I don't know. (Of course like others said, I'd feel a lot better if this smackdown came from someone without his own personal obnoxious cheering section) |

Definitely she didn't know originally but it was made pretty clear that Blake could hear her and she didn't stop once she knew. I don't think he was bothered by the sound of her voice as much as the fact that she was talking about how bad Blake was. He could hear that while he played.
ETA - Has anyone else noticed that none of the Spanish players are shaving? I looked at pictures of Nadal, Lopez, Ferrer, Robredo and Verdasco and they are all unshaven. I can't find a picture of Ferrero. I've never seen them all sporting the facial hair at the same time. I wonder if it has anything to do with the World Cup?

Good catch. I'll bet you are right. Kind of like the Argentines never shaving or cutting their hair.
I guess I should be happy that my work went completely ballistic over the past few hours so I couldn't watch the Fer/Fabio match at all. All I know is--Fer needs a haircut and a shave. I don't care what Spain is doing in the World Cup.
I went back and looked to see who told me about it during the French (strangely--I found the right page on the 2nd try). It was amarathe. Thank you amarathe!
