The groups and first two days OoP have been announced for the WTF. The Brits are going to be pissed--the opening day session sells out early because everyone assumes they'll put Murray there. He doesn't play until Monday day. However, Roger/Tsonga will go a long way to appease the masses. Awww, my man is such a good guy.

Anyone watching Barclay's? I'm not, because TPTB decided that only TTC subscribers should enjoy such access. Beating a long-dead horse here, but I still can't believe their idiocy.
At any rate, I see Feds had a nice win over Tsonga. [/choke] Maybe I'll try to watch online. You guys?

It was a nice match between JW and Fed, but something definitely happened to JW's concentration in that last game. That match ended with a whimper. Surprisingly, there's no espn3.com coverage for this, since the women had it. First time I've seen the women wrangle better online coverage than the men.
Just got home, so I missed the first set and a half of Rafa/Fish.

There's hardly anything that isn't annoying about tennis (tv) schedules these days.
How's the new job, f'clese?

The best way to describe it is hectic and yet weirdly refreshing, tiki. It's basically a self applied shake-up after a long time at a comfortable but (as it turns out) not particularly challenging job. Now, if I can keep from fucking it up, everything will be lovely.
In other words, so far, so good!

Awww, falafaclese, I don't know you at all and I know you won't be fucking up at the job.
I just checked the results online and I'm pleased (with the results, not that I couldn't watch). I love Tsonga, but not against Roger and yeah for Rafa over Fish. And Max and Daniel winning makes me extremely happy, although I wish Llodra/Zimonjic had won.

lt, when do you go to London? Sorry I thought you were seeing the whole event?
I did get to see some of the matches when they were re-run. Roger was able to out-steady Jo in the end but it looked like a challenge.

I know, right?
Did anyone see the beginning of Rafa's match with Fish? The report I read said that Rafa was extremely agitated and called for the trainer to re-tape his fingers on court, delaying the start of the match and, according to the writer, really throwing Fish off at the beginning of the match. I'm wondering if it seemed like poor-sportsmanship and whether the commentators made mention of it.
As much as I adore Rafa, I do deplore his practice of making his opponents wait. I don't believe it's gamesmanship on Rafa's part, but it can end up having the same effect on his opponent, and I wish he would stop it.
PS - Thanks again, everyone, for your very kind words about Harry. He really is doing amazingly well, all things considered.

roseha, I leave tomorrow and I have tickets to the third round of the Round Robin (Thursday day/night and Friday day/night) and the semis. Well, right now I only have tickets for the night matches for the semis--I'll have to come up with a way to get day tickets. I'm contemplating getting the "hospitality" tickets since they aren't more than the tickets people are selling online but that's a bit steep if it ends up being matches I don't care about. I keep checking to see if last-minute tickets are put back into the system but, so far, no.
Yeah. I don't think he does it intentionally but the end result is the same and since he won't stop, I'm afraid my Rafa love is quite gone. I don't think he's an evil guy or anything, I just don't root for him against a lot of players. But I would against Fish so I'm wondering what I would have been thinking if I had seen the match and known what was going on.

In the Nadal/Fish match, there was another delay early in the first set as Rafa had to run off to the bathroom to throw up. That said, Fish was nervous as hell throughout that first set and the delays really didn't matter.
The most shocking thing about the tournament so far is that, while it seemed likely Janko the alternate would play, I really didn't think it'd be needed to possibly replace Murray. The two of biggest concern pre-tournament were Fish and Djokovic. Fish seemed physically okay and, while I don't think Djokovic is at full-strength, winning a match (that he was down match point in, no less) would have him keep going.

I just looked up the TV schedule online: www.tennis.com/articles/templates/ontv.aspx?articleid=787&zoneid=7Am I reading it right that the SEMIFINALS are only going to be broadcast live on ESPN3.com and tape delayed on TTC later? The SEMIFINALS? Why does tennis always get such crappy treatment on TV? I know a lot of people don't get TTC but they're showing the early rounds, why not let them show the semis live when ESPN is only going to show them online? Ugh...

Oh, sorry lt, must have forgotten, have a great time!
I know, the broadcasting of this event is dreadful. Especially with Thanksgiving weekend in the US, there are a lot of distractions and people will forget where to look in their schedules!
Harry I am so glad your Harry is recovering so nicely!
ETA: can anyone tell me if the singles final is best of 3 or best of 5? There was a time when I think they went with best of 5 in the final only but has that changed? Thanks.

roseha - I'm pretty sure the final is best 2 out of 3. The last year I remember it being out of 5 was 2007 when Federer played Ferrer in the final.
Have a great time lt. Try and touch Ferrer for me if you can or at least take his picture.
