I hate to say this, but I am really growing to dislike Chris Fowler. He's become a pontificating blowhard, hyping the crap of out every storyline. Such a typical sports journalist: looking for the headline and only the headline, and if it's not the headline he wants, making it the headline he wants and then pounding it as relentlessly as Republicans pound their talking points. Ugh. Come back to us, Chris; you used to be cool.

I agree that I don't think it'll be del Potro ending the streak either. I haven't been that impressed with Delpo's condition so far.
Given the way the draw is set, the streak breaker is one of three options (1) Rafa (2) Roger (3) a shocker (Melzer beating him last year would qualify). Delpo being a Grand Slam champ, Novak has been expecting this to be a battle and will be prepared and probably scary good. It's the fourth round match I'd be concerned about, because it's either a guy who won a set off of him this clay season (Bellucci) or a player on a roll with a crazy French crowd on his side (Gasquet).

Novak's streak is incredible, but I'm rooting for Del Potro. I know he probably doesn't have the conditioning yet, but it would be nice to see a competitive match.

Lisicki has a gluten allergy! According to Radio Roland Garros she was tested and came back positive. Let's see what happens with her game.

I feel weird that this is the first FO in a loong time that I am not starting my days at 4 am. So strange. Anyone know what the US TV schedule is like for the next week?

Well, so much for the "#1" seed on the women's side eh? Good Job Hantuchova, nice to see her doing well, after her past meltdowns.

So happy for Dani.
These last two matches have not exactly shown Caroline in a good light in terms of her mental game. First the nonsense in the Woz/Woz match and now this rather limp effort.

Tennis Channel and ESPN2 (weekdays); NBC (weekends + finals) I just read this somewhere online, but can't remember the site.

Ugh. NBC for the weekend. I forget that every year. At least TTC will be on air until noon--but NBC won't let TTC air the higher-profile matches so I guess I'll spend the weekend watching online. Maybe I should take this as a good excuse to do Memorial Day-type activities instead.
ESPN--I love Roger but why are we watching him breathe? And, really, why weren't there any questions for Roger in English in his press conference? That's weird.
LOVED Delpo taking that 2nd set with such great play but I while the commentators were all talking about how stopping play was good for Delpo I felt like the momentum was with him and Djokovic will come back firing tomorrow.

Were they saying that? I agree with you. I feel like this delay will be a reset for Djoker. He's the one with the confidence after all, and with some time to remember how his year's been, he'll probably start strong tomorrow.
I really enjoy Delpo's forehand. When he gets behind it and takes a full swing with full body rotation, it's so smooth; almost like a dance step.

Oh dear, my (admittingly bizarre) choice for champion is injured. Luckily, Berrer isn't taking advantage so hopefully Murray can get lots of ice and feel better.

Nice performances by Nadal and Murray. Neither them nor Fed is looking like they can challenge Djoker yet, though. Del Potro's playing well right now, so maybe it will be a good match.
When I initially filled out my WTA bracket, I had Azarenka as my winner, and I went back and changed it. I'm wishing I hadn't now.

Meh, that was anti-climatic. Novak was just too good.

My laptop is so ve-y ve-y sick that I'm amazed I can even type this (as you can see, some keys don't function) ... gotta get in my tennis chat quick while I can. The women's side has been so disappointing, I'm not much ca-ing even at this point.
Actually, that may apply a little bit to the whole thing - I'm in post-Fed slump and am not getting quite the same zip f-om the game. Inevitable when I get so so invested in one pe-son. Djok, yup, nice DelPo got a set, but he's just not losing. Now Andy M badly did in his ankle(maybe), Fed's not making the final I don't at all think, maybe not even semi's. So will Nadal hold up his end fo- the big expected final clash? I hope so - that should at least be a high quality match, no matte- how you might feel about the playe-s.
I'm just in a bit of a funk tennis-wise, maybe my pc's death th-oes ae infecting me.
