Sometimes you wonder why they bring in random people (who was that "Aga expert" guy? a blogger?) to talk... and then you get Charles Barkley, who actually knew more about tennis than I'd have thought and had to laugh about him telling Patrick Ewing that Jordan is just better than him.
Roof is closing. The Brit and Dane are one set away.

I set the alarm for 9 this morning so I missed Charles, who is a real hoot. So I guess I'll make it 8 tomorrow for what should be an incredible day in Wimbledon lore. I just hope it's a good match no matter the winner.

Thanks, GSG, indeed true to your moniker. I try to keep my streaming to a minimum, so will watch the scoreboard.
Tomorrow will be the first Wimbledon men's final in history that I do not watch on a TV.

Ouch. No ESPN, oops? I'd look for a friendly neighborhood diner with a TV. I've called around to ask about tennis coverage in the past and management was happy to accommodate, especially at such an early hour.
Roof is finally closed and they're back at play.

We cut cable a year ago - could not abide Comcast in the house any longer (but I wonder what my philosophy would have been had I known about Wimby - ha). I remember bar hopping for Pete's run to the 7th because we didn't have a TV! Found one, obviously, and I should do the same tomorrow, you're right.

I gotta say thank you to Serena--if it weren't for the women's doubles final having her and Venus we'd be stuck watching bowling right now. . .
The Senior's Invitational has become such a comedy routine, and I have no problem with that. It was nice getting to see a bit of it during the rain delay and Barami with his crazy serve and lifting the net up and down made me laugh.

My twitter feed is showing just how nervous Marray's and Nielsen's tennis friends are.
One game away now.

They did it! Congrats to the first Danish grand slam winner and, of course, to Marray. They were thrilled and so cute about it. Nice win.

Amazing. Tuned in to see them finish it up and hoist the trophy - especially cute when they don't know what to do. Awww....

Oops, the women's teams are making their way onto the court for warm up. The roof is already closed so there are no rain delay worries.

Thanks, GSG. Amazing to think of a final match on Centre Court starting at 9:30 pm.... I feel very old today!

And oops, ABC will be airing "highlights of the men's final" tomorrow at 3pm ET tomorrow (they're airing the women's final highlights/match now). It's a three-hour window so I don't know what part of that is "highlight" and what part is "match." I figure you don't want to wait tomorrow though. . .
Man, I love tennis. That men's doubles final was sooooo good. Some truly brilliant doubles net play. And such sportsmanship! Both teams conceding points. The women's doubles game should take note. I loved that both Marray and Nielsen immediately pointed to the net when Marray hit it with his racquet.

I know! The sportsmanship was incredible in the doubles match and I’m glad it was highlighted. Indeed it makes one proud to be a tennis fan.
Who knew this Wimbledon would be so exciting...even more so than the French? I love it!
The players will be worn out by the end of the US Open but we as fans will have our cup runneth over with the Olympics fast approaching.

I was thinking about that. Usually I wake up on finals weekend and I'm a little sad because we're leaving Wimbledon and the grass. It's nice knowing I can just watch the finals and see Wimbledon again in a couple of weeks. My only concern is how much will I be able to see? How much tennis will NBC and its affiliates show?
I don't like that Serena doesn't keep her runner-up trophies. I understand how passionate she is about winning and it's her choice to do whatever she likes but that feels disrespectful to me--but I'm not sure to whom, the tournament? the winner? I dunno, I just don't like it.
Venus at the net, is there anything more astonishing?
Congrats to the sisters--I love how they chatter at each other after a win.
On another note, this is the first Eleven dress that I've really liked, and could see as something that could sell in stores. I'm hating on those brown leather tennis bags though.
