Stella hates the world--she doesn't design anything that looks good anymore, not even for herself.

I'm rooting for Gasquet over Ferrer. What's wrong with me? I guess as good as David's game is, I'm more interested in seeing more of Richard's style. But then they showed the most adorable little girl in David's box cheering madly. Hard not to want her to be happy. . . This weather would definitely affect Gasquet's game more than Ferrer's. Ferrer can just hit through the muck. Usually in Ferrer matches, you feel that David is the underdog even if the opponent is the lower ranked. But it doesn't feel that way when he plays Gasquet and it's tough to explain but I do root for Richard in these matches.

Dammit. All the wishing in the world isn't going to bring Gasquet back from two sets down to Ferrer. Winner has a good chance to get to the semis too. (Go Kohlshreiber!)

I'm home with a bad cold so I've watched most of these matches live. I really thought Stosur had a chance. It was close and the crowd seemed to be rooting for her or at least against Azarenka (I'm sure it's at least partly the screeching, New Yorkers will let you know how they feel, heh). Too bad for her.
I hope nutty Bartoli will make this match against Maria at least entertaining.
Too bad about Gasquet, yes.
So is Delpo being overlooked as a threat to Djoko? Presuming he gets by Roddick, that looks like a potentially tough match to me.

The thing about Delpo is that he's always overlooked. Basically, he holds up the trophy and everyone goes, "oh yeah, Del Potro has a good shot."

I love that the NY crowd truly was pulling for Sam. That might be a first for her outside of Australia.
Pretty sure most consider del Potro the biggest threat to Nole on this half of the draw... but who knows how mentally draining this Roddick match will end up being.

Lovely photos. The Feli ones are especially mesmerizing... and I actually am talking about his eyes, not his body.

Damn the rain. My favorite kook, Bartoli, is leading Maria 4-0 in the first but the match has been suspended until tomorrow. Dammit.
Very nice pics, It. Next year I'm going, doggone it.

Great pics lt! Did you somehow manage to get phenomenal seats wherever you went, or is the zoom on your camera just that good?
Thanks to mooncreek for the on-site commentary too! I feel like with all the articles people have been posting, as well as the on-site posts and the pics, thise has been one of the more informative slams we have followed together in a while.

Heh, I was showing some of the photos to my art director and she was wondering where I was sitting too. It's the camera--it has a 24X zoom (my previous point-and-shoot had a 12X zoom). I am in the first row (because I have this thing about people being in front of me) but I'm getting up their noses because of the zoom. I wish I could upload the burst photos! Seeing the serve or the return of serve is so cool with the constant motion.
moon, it's the eyes for me too--the color is just so incredible. I'll upload more of him after the semis (I feel enough like a stalker as it is, I need to spread them out a bit).
I checked the radar--this band of rain should be stopping soon but then a strip of heavier rain will be going through. This might be a while. . .
eta: dammit part whatever. Bye Richard! I became a real fan of yours this tournament.
UGH! Please Kohlshreiber, come back when the rain stops. I can't have that misogynist, homophobic, poseur asshole you're playing in the quarters! It can't happen.

Love your picture lt. That's an awesome camera you have there. I love the one of Baggy smacking himself in the forehead.
THIS. Plus I'll get to keep saying Kohlschreiber in a German accent.

Talk about a strange few months for Errani. French Open finalist, victim of a golden set, blitzed by Venus at the Olympics, now US OPen semifinalist and #1 doubles player in the world!
