What does this mean, oops? (Sorry if I'm being denser than usual.) Is it some reference to lt's even/odd number OCD? lt, a good friend of mine has a similar thing about numbers, but for her evens are good and odds the source of all evil in the world. Well, maybe not quite that bad, but odds are pretty darn evil.

(I was trying to be cryptic so as not to insert politics overtly. Had the match on my laptop and PBS on the TV. Coding the presidents by number.) Was an intense evening in the Casa Oops.

Sorry you feel worse. I was angriest yesterday when I was listening to Jensen and Trautwig. Idiots. Asshats. Morons. I muted them quickly, but was still seething about them during the match. When I woke up, I realized it was a fairly predictable loss for Roger, and that after such a hard-fought summer this loss would have been crushing at any stage. But perhaps I'm happy that he might get to go rest. He alluded to changing his decision about Davis Cup in the presser, so maybe he's thinking along the same lines.

Regarding Davis Cup, it would be fascinating if Roger made one more push for that in 2013 (which means playing next week to stay in World Group). Then again, don't know why Wawrinka retired from his match so that could influence the decision as well.

Now I am sad. (And apparently unstable.) Mostly because of things I'll never have a window into. What was the source of the edgy melancholy I sensed before they even started? My wonderings led me to fatigue this morning, but now I'm reconsidering.

Yes! Carlos Ramos for the win! And, oh man, it was my fault--I came home from a VBarre class (look that sucker up and feel sorry for me) and was too tired to dust. I should realize that my dusting is far more important than worrying about being exhausted.

The US Open DirecTV blimp was involved in a "parade of blimps" around Manhattan this morning. Let's just say there were cries of "UFO" when we could see them off in the distance but couldn't figure out what those slow-moving things in formation were. Google-foo came to the rescue before we called in the national guard.

I've been following @federerlive on twitter and they seem to think he will be playing Davis Cup next week. I hope so, I think it might also help him feel positive again.

On balance, it has been a great year for him but I am still sad.

As for the women, I do think Azarenka would have a chance against Serena, though I would still pick Serena to win.

Sara Errani is having one heck of a tournament. She and Vinci are in the doubles final. Hoorah for them!

I like Peschke's black and grey combo--and the peach is nice underneath. However, she and Matkowski are about to lose in the super tiebreak. Then they came back and had championship points but ended up losing 12-10. Great tiebreak. Some killer points.

falafaclese, I have to ask--as i am constantly checking the radar, are you getting slammed by thunderstorms right now? Looks so nasty in your vicinity.
