Mary was fascinated by the size of Rafa's towels. Can they make her go away, please? Sure, it wasn't the most exciting of matches and JMac was all fatigued from the Stan/Nole match, but shut the fuck up Mary.
Stan was playing so well. I'm really happy for him. He deserves the recognition and the results.

Too bad about Peya's injury for the men's doubles final. It was a sad rout. The women's doubles last night was a great match. Happy that Andrea came away with two trophies this tournament.
Hope this match can stay competitive. I know the wind is the big problem for both of them so I hope nerves doesn't enter the picture.
Why isn't the crowd being quiet between points? That's kinda weird.

The women's doubles last night was a great match. Happy that Andrea came away with two trophies this tournament. I like Hlavackova and Hradecka, but yesterday i was rooting for the Australians. Three slam doubles finals without a win has to be frustrating. |

Watching Serena's skirt swirling around her, practically up to her ears, I'm wondering if players are contractually obligated to wear certain items of clothing on court. Will she have to consult her lawyer if she wants to change into something else to, you know, help win the US Open?

I was wondering the same thing. She'd be better off with her practice shorts. But, since I'm rooting for Vika I'll take any distraction she can get. . . (kidding, they are both dealing with the wind.)

I don't understand that skirt. It's like 2-3inches to short, and the volumenand light-weight material make it impossible for it to read intentionally short like that Stella McCartney kit from a few years back. It just looks like someone on the design team forgot somethingforgot something.
Serena pulled it together just enough at the end of that first set. The look on her face as she was walking back to her chair was pretty compelling.

Vika's visible boob sweat should make her burn that kit.
Serena needs to drop the waist of that skirt. Then it would be longer and her torso wouldn't look so odd.
Vika isn't giving up, which is nice to see. I'm for Serena this match. That noise Vika makes just grafes.

I know Vika's sound is weird, but I think Serena is just as loud. Where I think that's a compliment to Vika is that Serena only gets this noisy when she's really working and so we hear it against Vika. A strange compliment I know, but when you can't win against her at least Vika can say she made Serena really loud!
Is it the fabric Nike is using? I know they have some new, "revolutionary" (their words) fabric for some of their sports stuff but both Serena and Vika are looking like they forgot their clinical-strength deodorant. I'd prefer non-visible sweating over new fabric myself. . .
eta: that love-40 point at 5-5 should have gone to Vika--the (wrong) call was late and well after Serena hit it (out).
Boy, no matter what happens, these two deserve the 1-2 spots.
