Finally. I feel bad for Vika. Over the past decade it seems like so many of the women have just folded under the pressure. She fought all the way but just didn't make the shots.

My CBS says it goes on at 5 pm--is your local news keeping it off the air for an hour? If you have access to your computer, USOpen.org will have the stream. I know, not the same thing. . . I won't be able to leave work early so I'll be relying on my Open app and then US Open radio on my satellite radio as soon as I can get to my car.

I always hate when they start talking money during the award ceremony.

It's nice to have a top two on the women's side that really challenge each other. In spite of the still one-sided record between these two, Vika has had the ability to give Serena fits. Even back before Vika's first slam title, she had those two crazy dramatic near-wins at the Australian Open. I like that she's so tough in every way, even down to the way that she stalks around the court when she's playing.

They have now given us two very enjoyable grand slam finals. I wonder how many more?

Agreed. I kinda hate the US Open Series money thing because they make such a big deal of it when they give the checks and the players look so uncomfortable.

The US Open always focuses on money more than the other Slams. The players always look weirded out by the money and excited by the trophy. I think Roger and Rafa have both ignored the check and gone for the trophy. The money doesn't inspire the top players to play harder or participate in more of the lead up tournaments. They should just stop. It's not helping promote the sport.

What happened to those adorable bus ads with the players acting liked they lived together during the series? The Greatest Roadtrip in Sports. That was fun.

In NYC all the bus ads were of Roger and so were all the big signs for Moet & Chandon that were everywhere. Oy. Little hard to see this past week.

eta: Heeeeeee, look at this adorable picture of Serena and Max when they won the mixed in 1998. So young. So cute.

I didn't mean ads on buses, I meant commercials with the players on the bus. I seem to remember a commercial of JMac and Roger arguing over a coffee mug and one of Rafa hitting the curb while trying to park the tour bus. Those were fun.

I like a good funny commercial.

I love how Djokovic and Nadal's girlfriends are complete opposites up in the stands. Djokovic's girlfriend is scarily intense with her encouragement to Djoker and Nadal's girlfriend is smiling and giggling about being on the jumbotron.

While trying to get through this very annoying (for me and Djoker) match I uploaded some of my photos from this year's Open. I didn't go all that often this year, but I did see Roger, Feli and Max so there's that. And what would I be doing if I didn't have at least one shirtless photo of Feli? Well, I have three.
